There is INTERIOR Waterproofing, which uses membranes and French drains along foundation footings and steam walls of the basement. It encapsulates a basement from the outside. At the side of the footings new drainage pipes are placed covered with P-gravel and drainage fabric, which redirect water to exterior by gravity or a sump pump. It is a very effective and cost efficient way to control water intrusions. Interior waterproofing can be done faster than exterior waterproofing.
Then there is Exterior Waterproofing which consists of excavating foundation walls to the bottom of the footings. Once the area is excavated, the walls are covered with exterior membranes, like Delta or Mira drains. These membranes expand drainage areas to all layers of a soil profile. The dry walls may also be sealed with waterproofing solution. At the side of the footings, new drainage pipes are placed covered with P-gravel and drainage fabric.
Jerzy Just wanted to send a quick note to express how happy I was with the job you and your crew performed on our basement. I’m a do-it-yourself type of guy and am consequently reluctant to hire out a job, but like John Wayne said: “a man’s gotta know his limitations.” Fighting a continual flow of water into one’s house is disconcerting to say the least, and therefore I very much appreciated your promptness, honesty, knowledge and capability. You immediately set me at ease – yes there is a solution to your problem – and followed through with a timely job well done. You, your son and your crew were courteous, capable and trustworthy, in short you were a pleasure to work with. The next time I need work done you will be the first on my call list. All the best, Michael McGuffin
Dear Jerzy, We would like to thank your team for successfully solving a 30+ year problem of water in a section of our 1939 home's basement. You were able to accurately identify the problem areas, right down to the cracks in mortar around bricks that were contributing to our water problems. Your bid on the work to be done was well within the range of what we anticipated. The crew arrived when expected, fully briefed on the job to be done, and they worked hard the whole time they were here. The crew members were masters of every job they had to do, including an awesome job of restoring a finished basement to its original state. We were amazed that it could be done! We were happy because they were very willing to tell us what was going on and how they were doing it as well as answering a million questions. We have been through over an inch of rain since they completed work and not a drop has come into the basement. Anyone with a residential water problem should start with Greenwood International Wet Basement Services to get straight answers from someone with a sound engineering and hydraulics background. Sincerely, Chuck and Becky Cox
Jerzy It was a pleasurable experience having you and your crew correct the drainage problem for us in such a timely manner. Your crew was first class and accomplished a large amount of work in a short time. They left the work area in a neat and orderly fashion. Thank You Richard W. No. Seattle
